Kenalog (triamcinolone Acetonide)
Each injection contains triamcinolone acetonide 40 mg/ml as the active ingredient. Triamcinolone acetonide belongs to a group of medicine called corticosteroids (steroids).
In people with a pollen allergy and an underlying rheumatic disorder, such as rheumatoid arthritis, their allergies can trigger or exacerbate flare-ups of joint pain. Commonly called hay fever, pollen allergy occurs when the immune system overreacts to pollen in the air, which is normally harmless.
Most of the time pollen allergy responds to treatments like antihistamines or nasal steroids. But when symptoms are resistant to common treatments, an injectable corticosteroid called Kenalog may be considered. Kenalog can ease allergy symptoms and relieve joint pain.
Understanding allergies
